Welcome to Street Photographer. This site is dedicated to the art of street photography and is a collaborative effort by 2 (and sometimes 3) independant street photographers who aim to capture the meanderings of everyday life in a different way.
We very much see ourselves as an open minded think tank for this genre, are passionate about our craft and constantly zone out as we search for any means possible to capture something poetic when looking through the lens. Although we try to shoot almost everyday, we will never cease to learn what we can from photography, no matter how much or how little experience any of us here may have. When we aren’t shooting street, we engage in other forms of photography as well, such as photojournalism, events and portraiture. We pay homage to artists like Henri Cartier-Bresson, Robert Capa, Robert Frank, Martin Parr, Joel Meyerowitz and Trent Parke to name a few.
We will be adding more images from around the world to this collection in good time so please feel free to check in anytime or email us with any queries.
As we expand our street photography network by the day, we are most likely out shooting, rather than uploading:)
We believe photography changes lives. The images we see everyday can be stimulating, others provocative, while others can change the minds of the masses. We live in a fluid era that pushes and pulls between technologies and ideals, so here at this site we are fortunate enough to maintain healthy relationships with both our film cameras and our digitial SLR’s and therefore embrace all forms of capture devices to seize the images as they present themsleves before us.
Some of the images on the site have been created at a time when basic digital point and shoots first made an appearance in 1994 and when all we had growing up were disposable cameras - using our arms and legs as makeshift tripods. Therefore we are more than happy to include these photos as a tribute to the ubiquitous whirlpool around us.
We encourage and welcome all feedback here so feel free to email us: info@streetphotographer.com.au
Happy Shooting!
